More about us
We are Brown’s Lakeside Larder, named after Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown, the very famous landscape architect, born at Kirkharle Courtyard and located next to his serpent lake.
We are a small business that stocks and supports predominantly small, local producers, be it food, beverages or gifts and often our products can’t be found in supermarkets.
Come and see for yourself the array of products sourced from our North East doorstep.
steeped in history
Nestled in the beautifully converted 18th century farm steading of Kirkharle, Brown’s Lakeside Larder is open everyday from 10am until 5pm (4pm in the winter). We occupy what used to be the Hemmel and sit adjacent to the popular Kirkharle Courtyard Coffee House.
